The Utah Taiko Experience 2025 planning is well underway, and we're excited to announce the release of the concert set list for this year’s Summer Thunder concert in the park! This event is a true highlight of UTE, showcasing the incredible work of our participants while raising funds for the Manti High School Performing Arts Department.
Concert Set List & Resources (click to access)
The set list includes all the songs we’ll be performing together, with some designated as mandatory pieces that everyone will play, and others as optional pieces that you can choose to join. Each song on the list has:
Hyperlinks to videos, learning materials, kuchishoga sheets, audio files, and other resources.
Clear descriptions of the difficulty level and expectations for each piece.
Notes on whether practice time will be allotted for the piece during UTE.
Important: The majority of songs need to be learned before arriving at UTE, as most songs won’t have practice slots during the event. We’ll have dress rehearsals but expect participants to be prepared in advance unless otherwise noted in the sign-up sheet.
Song Sign-Up Form (click to access)
When you're ready, use the provided sign-up form to select the songs you'd like to play. This will help us plan and organize the concert effectively. The deadline to sign up for pieces is May 1, 2025 . Early sign-ups are recommended since some songs have limited participant spots. If any pieces don’t gather enough participants, we’ll remove them from the set list.
Pre-Order Gear & Bachi
At the bottom of the set list sheet, you’ll find a "Bachi & Aux Gear" section section which contains our recommendations for:
Bachi and gear from Asano Taiko US and Kadon.
Free shipping will be available for pre-orders, as Shoji and Yuta will bring the products directly to the Utah Taiko Experience for pickup.
There will also be a limited amount of gear available for sale at the event.
Exclusive kaDON Trial Subscription
Thanks to Kadon’s generous sponsorship, all participants will receive a free trial subscription to the Kadon online resource database. This invaluable resource offers:
Engaging and comprehensive learning materials for practicing the UTE song list.
A chance to explore new techniques and stay connected with the global taiko community.
Details on activating your free kaDON subscription will be emailed privately to each registered participant.
Summer Thunder: concert in the park
This year’s concert will continue our tradition of giving back to the community by supporting the Manti High School Performing Arts Department. Past concerts have helped to fully renovate the high school auditorium and purchase a new lighting board for the theater and drama departments! I have just seen the new seats in the auditorium and they are fantastic:)!
This year, our goal is to support the music and choir programs, a meaningful way to thank the local community for hosting us and to support the future of performing arts in Manti.
The concert is a collaborative project that brings us all (UTE participants and the local community) together. The set list has been carefully planned to be engaging, high-energy, and fun for both participants and the audience. This event is an incredible opportunity to share taiko with the local community and give us all the opportunity to share the stage together and the special bond that comes with that experience.
Sign up for your pieces by May 1st using the sign-up form to secure your spot in the performance! We can’t wait to see what this year’s concert will bring and look forward to drumming alongside you in July!
